How to Use Cheat Codes
Before you can use most cheat codes, you need to enable the cheat console in your game:
- PC/Mac: While in-game, press
Ctrl + Shift + Cto open the cheat console. - PlayStation 4/Xbox One: While in-game, hold down all four triggers simultaneously to open the cheat console.
Once the console is open, type the cheat code and press Enter. For some cheats, you might need to enable testingcheats true first.
Money Cheats
rosebud
Adds 1,000 Simoleons to your household funds.
kaching
Adds 1,000 Simoleons to your household funds (same as rosebud).
motherlode
Adds 50,000 Simoleons to your household funds.
money [number]
Sets your household funds to the exact specified number. Replace
[number] with your desired amount.
Build Mode Cheats
FreeRealEstate On
Makes all houses and lots free when in the world or neighborhood view. Use
FreeRealEstate Off to disable.
bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement
Unlocks all career rewards in Build/Buy mode.
bb.moveobjects on
Removes object placement restrictions, allowing you to place objects anywhere. Use
bb.moveobjects off to disable.
Reveals hidden items in the Build/Buy catalog (debug items).
bb.showliveeditobjects
Reveals even more hidden items in the Build/Buy catalog (world objects). Requires
bb.showhiddenobjects to be active.
bb.enablefreebuild
Allows building anywhere, including on locked lots.
Life Mode & General Cheats (Requires testingcheats true)
Most of these cheats require you to first enable testingcheats true in the cheat console. On consoles, using testingcheats true will disable achievements/trophies for that save file.
testingcheats true
Enables most other cheats and allows for shift-click interactions on Sims and objects. For example, clicking on a Sim unlocks the "make happy" function to fulfill all their needs. Use
testingcheats false to disable.
aspirations.complete_current_milestone
Completes the current milestone for your active Sim's aspiration.
cas.fulleditmode
Enables full editing in Create a Sim (CAS) mode. You can then shift-click a Sim and select "Modify in CAS".
death.toggle true/false
Enables or disables death for your Sims. Replace
true with false to disable death.
fillmotive [motive]
Fills a specific motive for your active Sim. Examples:
fillmotive bladder, fillmotive hunger.
sims.fill_all_commodities
Fills all motives for the active Sim.
Shift-Click Ground
With
testingcheats true enabled, shift-click on any ground spot and select "Teleport Here" to move your Sim.
resetSim [Firstname] [Lastname]
Resets a stuck Sim to a safe, neutral state. Replace
[Firstname] [Lastname] with the Sim's name.
sims.give_satisfaction_points [number]
When
testingcheats mode is active, replaces [number] with the desired amount to get that many satisfaction points for your Sim.
sims.remove_all_buffs
Removes moodlets and resets the Sim to a neutral mood.
stats.fill_all_commodities_household
Satisfies all needs of each Sim in the current household.
aging.advance_sim_age
Forces the active Sim to age up to the next life stage.
headlineeffects off
Hides all thought bubbles and plumbobs above Sims' heads. Use
headlineeffects on to reactivate.
Household Cheats
households.autopay_bills true/false
Activates/Deactivates household bills. Use
true to permanently remove bills, false to reactivate.
Career Cheats
careers.demote [career name in English]
Demotes the Sim in the indicated career. Replace
[career name in English] with the actual career name.
careers.promote [career name in English]
Gives the Sim a promotion in the indicated career. Replace
[career name in English] with the actual career name.
careers.remove_career [career name in English]
Makes a Sim quit the indicated career. Replace
[career name in English] with the actual career name.
Skills Cheats
stats.set_skill_level <SkillName> <1-10>
Sets a specific skill to a given level (1-10). Example:
stats.set_skill_level Major_Painting 10.

Skill name for Charisma.

Modifies the friendship level between two Sims. Replace
<value> with a number between -100 and 100.

Modifies the romance level between two Sims. Replace
<value> with a number between -100 and 100.
Traits Cheats
traits.equip_trait <trait>
Adds a specific trait to your Sim.
traits.remove_trait <trait>
Removes a specific trait from your Sim.
NeverWeary
Trait: Never needs to sleep.
SteelBladder
Trait: Never needs to use the bathroom.
MorningPerson
Trait: Gains a moodlet when waking up early.
NightOwl
Trait: Gains a moodlet when staying up late.
Trait_High_Metabolism
Trait: Sims with high metabolism burn calories faster.
Creative
Trait: Creative Sims are often inspired.
Geek
Trait: Geek Sims are passionate about games and sci-fi.
Loner
Trait: Loner Sims prefer to be alone.
Pregnancy Cheats
sims.add_buff buff_pregnancy_inlabor
Forces a pregnant Sim to go into labor immediately.
pregnancy.force_offspring_gender <SimID> male/female
Chooses the gender of the baby. Replace
<SimID> with the pregnant Sim's ID.
pregnancy.force_offspring_count <SimID> <number>
Sets the number of babies (twins, triplets). Replace
<SimID> with the pregnant Sim's ID and <number> with the desired count.
Occult / Creatures Cheats
traits.equip_trait trait_OccultVampire
Transforms your Sim into a Vampire.
traits.equip_trait trait_OccultMermaid
Transforms your Sim into a Mermaid.
traits.equip_trait trait_OccultAlien
Transforms your Sim into an Alien.
traits.equip_trait trait_OccultWerewolf
Transforms your Sim into a Werewolf.
traits.equip_trait Ghost_<type>
Transforms your Sim into a Ghost of a specific death type. Example:
traits.equip_trait Ghost_Electrocution.
Console Specific Actions
Hold L2 + R2 (PlayStation 4) or LT + RT (Xbox One) and press up/down
Increases/decreases the size of the selected object.
